JD Classics are pleased to announce their sponsorship of the 2016 Le Mans Classic. As major sponsors of both Mille Miglia and Goodwood Revival in 2015 and 2016, JD Classics are now supporting another major historic event in the biannual Classic event held at the famous La Sarthe circuit. Situated above the pit lanes on the start/finish straight, JD Classics will be hosting a suite for invited guests and clientele to enjoy our hospitality whilst enjoying the on-track action.
As well as supporting the event, JD Classics will also be campaigning a six car line-up consisting of a Costin Lister, Lister Knobbly, Lotus Elite, Jaguar XK120 and Austin Healey 100S. The team is completed by the formidable ex-Fangio Jaguar C-Type which recently claimed an unrivalled victory in the prestigious Monaco Historique, the only car to have claimed a hat-trick of victories in 2012, 2014 and 2016.
As well as competing JD Classics will also be displaying their 1956 Fiat Series #306/2 Bartoletti Grand Prix Transporter. Originally built in 1956, the transporter was commissioned by the American Scarab team, the only all-American Grand Prix team. Switching owners in the early 1960s to Carroll Shelby, the transporter was used to transport the team Cobra Daytona Coupes in Europe. Having also starred in the 1971 film ‘Le Mans’ featuring Steve McQueen, it seemed only fitting for JD Classics to display the vehicle in its original blue livery at this year’s Le Mans Classic.
