Having regularly competed at some of the most prominent historic motor racing events both nationally and internationally, JD Classics will this year be sponsoring the newest addition to the historic calendar; the Bernina Granturismo. Hoping to recreate the races held during the International St Moritz Automobile Week during the late 1920s and 30s, the Bernina Hill climb will celebrate sports and racing cars built up until the early 1980s allowing competitors and spectators alike to enjoy some of the most impressive marques and models in motor racing existence.
Originally known as the Bernina Mountain Race, the now 5.6 kilometre hill climb along the Bernina Pass boasts the spectacular backdrop of the Swiss Alps making it all the more desirable an event to compete in.
JD Classics are proud to be sponsoring the Bernina Hill climb in its inaugural year and will be campaigning a line-up of 4 of their most impressive historic racing cars consisting of their 1954 Cooper T33, 1952 Jaguar C-Type and 1975 ex-Works Ford Escort RS 1800 all of which will take to the famous Bernina Pass in a bid to set the fastest time of the weekend. The distinctive Datsun 240Z ‘Big Sam’ will also be in attendance and will take to Swiss roads as part of a demonstration, reinforcing its standing as one of the most significant and famous Datsun 240Z’s ever produced.
JD Classics are pleased to be supporting the Bernina Granturismo and hope to build on this year’s sponsorship in the years to come.
