Description
1955 Jaguar XK140 3.4 MC Drophead Coupe, LHD.
The XK140 debuted in 1954 as the latest iteration of Jaguar’s classic XK series of sports cars. Preserving the curvaceous wing lines of the XK120 but featuring much needed improvements in handling, leg room and overall power, the 140 quickly proved to be a worthy heir to its iconic predecessor. Of these latest 140s, the most desirable models were those finished to Special Equipment standard and fitted with the C-Type cylinder head – such models were given the moniker “MC” in the critical North American market where demand was large and growing, particularly among the sports car fraternity.
Originally supplied to California, this highly desirable ‘MC’ model with factory fitted C-Type cylinder head has benefited from a total chassis off restoration to a very high standard with very little use since completion.
This XK140 has been upgraded by JD Classics to our Touring Specification less than 4 years ago. Numerous JD Sport upgrades were fitted including 5 speed all synchromesh gearbox, Power Assisted Steering, Front Brakes upgrade with 4 Pot Caliper Discs, Alternator Electrics, Thermostatically controlled electronic cooling fan, Stainless steel exhaust and Colour coded front seatbelts with period buckles. JD Classics bare metal repaint to original factory colour specification, detailing and inspection all recently completed. All Numbers Match the vehicle's factory data sheet.
Only driven 150 miles since our works, the XK140 has been correctly stored and maintained by the last owner and is in superb condition.
