Ordered in September 1972 it was delivered to its first owner, a Mr Michael Taylor of London in late 1972 and came finished in Giallo Fly 20.Y.191 Salchi paint with Black interior and optional electric windows. Mr Taylor was a property consultant by profession but was involved with classic cars from an early age through the family firm Taylor & Crawley and was also a successful racing driver in his own right, even competing in the 1959 British and 1960 Belgian GPs. This initial link with motorsport was to set a pattern for the car and the most recent owner is a highly successful top-flight Formula One driver who commissioned the car’s restoration, which was completed in 2015 by renowned specialists Clark & Carter.
